There has been serious criticism around in the public in Vietnam on multi-player and role playing online games since they have caused adverse effects on the youth, espcially the violent practice in such games.
There have been many game-addicted young people becoming serious murderers and criminal for money to play online games. A teenager killed his grandfather who refused to give him money to buy Internet access at Internet shops to play multi-player and role playing online games. A girl agrees to sell her virginity for money to play her favorite games. And so on.
The public, the press and finally the
Government of Vietnam have
looked at and seen problems in such online games. Now the Government
even threats to promulgate new laws that restrict the experience by the
youth of online games and the business of distributors, Internet shops
and all those earning profit from the addiction of the youth to games.
So, divestment or restriction of business loom large. However, will
the gaming industry go to death in Vietnam?
Fortunately,
it will not. Not all games are violent, or so addictive
that they turn good students into down-and-out guys. Mini-games, or
flash games are an excellent substitute. And they are not less
interesting. A very good example is the mini-game site: http://www.game.ezfun.net. This is an
emerging gaming site which is all on the contrary to violent games. It
has a huge stock of minigames or flash games of all categories. That is
to say, this is the hope of the gaming industry in Vietnam, and http://www.game.ezfun.net will contribute
its part in this.
